Hey everyone! well this week is going well. Today we are watching Elder Scott's Funeral and that should be exciting im hoping. The Chinese is coming along great its crazy how fast it comes when we are fully immersed in it. Friday we went the whole day without saying any English which was a little weird but it really helps when you don't do any conversation in English. The classes are coming along very well I really feel like we have one of the best teachers in the MTC. Mr Andersen also really helped a lot with the sentence structure, a lot of the people struggle to grasp it but because of Mr. Andersen I feel like I have a lot of the more common phrases down. So that has been a huge blessing!
Ok Cafe Rio story so someone in my room had Cafe Rio sent to him and as you know its food from the outside world so we all like thought that was awesome and so we all ate cafe rio one night at like 10:00 at night.
So I shaved my legs the other night. But don't worry i got a doughnut and everyone doubted that i knew how so of course I had to show them. (Mom- don't worry you can only see my legs on P-day so its all good) But they're really smooth so definitely worth it.
So we have now watched the funeral of Elder Scott, it was super amazing! There were some great speakers and the spirit was super strong. I really liked how much peace there was during the meeting. I know that he is now with Heavenly Father and that was a great testimony builder of how much God loves each of us.
So my comp and I were studying Chinese outside when we were just wandering around the fence of the MTC reciting the Missionary Purpose in Chinese when we came up to a lady who is an investigator at the MTC. We were able to kinda start up a conversation when she asked us about the language we were speaking. Pretty soon she asked us a question along the lines of "If we chose to come to this earth then aren't we testing the plan instead of the plan testing us to get back?" Or something like that but she really wanted to know why we were here and what the point was if God already knew what we were going to do. So my Comp. and I were able to teach our first English lesson while we've been at the MTC. It was strange not having a language barrier and being able to just speak straight from the heart. The spirit was very strong and we even closed our brief little 20 minute talk with a prayer. However when I really felt the spirit was when I shared my testimony of the atonement and how the plan is perfect and we all can return and live with Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. Id invite you all to try and share your testimony this week with someone. Whether it be in Chinese or English ;)
