Hello! So umm I guess last week there wasn't enough detail.... (sorry mom and dad) cause I got a ton of questions about my companion who I thought I had summed up pretty well. But here goes again, his name is Ryan Lambert for all those that want to like look him up and stuff;) So Elder Lambert is going to the Australia Brisbane Mission. He did ballet and theater in high school. So other than that I think we are all cleared up on my comp. but we get along super well we talk about different things but we are both easy going and just go with it. The people in my district are all super great! We all connect really well and we get along and are all good friends now.
So this week went by super fast! I got to see Elder Pittard and Elder Stringham (sorry i cant really spell if you haven't noticed so im not sure how to spell there names) but that was a way cool thing! its good to see some familiar people. Other than that the week was just full of classes and all sorts of Chinese language things. We are totally immersed so I sometimes think in Chinese! It's crazy weird. We did a lesson in English the other day as part of an activity, it actually took me and my comp. a little bit to figure out what we wanted to say and who would say what. We're so used to just teaching in Chinese and knowing what each others vocabulary entails of. So it was weird to actually be able to understand and express our feelings!
So this Sunday we had steak for lunch, now it wasn't very good steak but you know steak is steak. So this brings me to my title, with each meal they always put this little side of vegetables and stuff on your plate. So you know the really nasty part of any meal cause who likes vegetables??? But in my district I was happening to sit by someone that actually did, what a chance of luck! So I offered to trade him my steamed broccoli and peas in return he gave me his steak! He is like got to be crazy or something, so I think that we have a long prosperous relationship ahead of us!
Last night we were watching a talk by Elder Holland called "Missions are Forever" it was so good. It really made me think a lot about how my mission would effect me. It also talked about how our missions will change our lives and I can already tell that its starting to change mine. I have been reading a lot of the missionary stories in the Book of Mormon and to see the impact that one person can have on a nation! and I'm so excited to be able to not only see a mission change me but also Australia.
Also i see tons of Elder Jackson we sat at the fence of the MTC for about an hour on Saturday night and we used our supersonic hearing to listen to the BYU game!! Not sure how much I contributed because I cant really hear. But I see him all the time we run 3 miles and then bike most mornings and then we eat together usually. Then we sit by each other for the Sunday devos (mission lingo for Devotionals) as well as choir practice.
Well thats all for this week! Everything is going great, also mom can you send me my jacket? Its like freezing skeet here at 6:30 when we go to get our food to eat. (preferably the grey and green state swimming one, but if not i guess whatever works, but do that one)
Love Elder Jackson
